If you’ve been watching for an update on the progress of Daylite Cloud, here it is.
In the last status update, I mentioned we realized we needed to make changes to the cloud architecture in order for it to scale well. We’ve continued to work on it, and I’m happy to report we have hit some good milestones.
Also, a key request we’ve received is to make the syncs more immediate. Currently, it can take up to 10 minutes for a change to appear on another device. For the kind of data Daylite works with, this is not a huge issue, but going forward, it would be nice if we didn’t have this constraint. I’m happy to report significant progress toward delivering on this request.
We’ve also overcome other constraints and limitations.
So, we are working hard and making good progress. I don’t have a release date, but we are getting closer and we will keep you posted.

What is Daylite Cloud
Daylite Cloud removes the need for Daylite Server while still having the same benefits. You just create an account, log in with Daylite (Mac or iOS). We take care of all the backend stuff.
Unfortunately, this hardware-centric approach, Ntractive style, may be quite limited. Evernote seems to offer a better paradigm — cloud-based service with OS-specific clients — unless one could use icloud as an API service between cloud apps (forms, email marketing, etc) and OS-based apps.
